I’ve just given a neighbor his first electric guitar. He’s a long-time 70s folkie so I’ve presented him with a Telecaster for his birthday. I knew it would push him out of his (as they too often say) comfort zone.
The guitar needs a wee bit of work. There are a few things I intentionally left undone. My evil plan is to introduce him to the fine arts of neck straightness and truss rods; fret dressing & crowning; saddle heights; intonation; and even semicolons, which are at least as divisive as the Oxford Comma.
These guitar-related tasks, if addressed in the wrong order, can waste a lot of time on the bench and may even lead to the ruin of the instrument.
