For example. Today I was looking at an ArsTechnica site on the iPad. For reasons not relevant here, I copied the page’s URL to the iPad’s clipboard.
Domestic activities interrupted my thoughts, and I forgot about the iPad altogether. But later I opened a plain text file on my MacBook and, not thinking much about the iPad activity, happened to run a macro that did a number of things in the text file, including pasting the contents of the MacBook’s clipboard.
And there it was: The iPad’s clipboard contents had been picked up by the MacBook and were stuffed into the MacBook text editor’s plain text file.
I had not expected that, but I think I can find a use for it.
